I was going to write about this in “Todays News,” but I think it speaks to a much larger issue and a darker path we’re walking more rapidly toward. I know this happened yesterday, but today I came across a poll on Facebook that asked “Do you agree with the White House’s decision to ban Acosta from the Whitehouse?”
Um. What? Is this something people are arguing about? Yes, I watched the video. I watched it about 200 times, I watched it in slow motion, I watched it sped up. What happened was simple. Lady goes to grab the mic from his hands, he blocks her with his elbow, he doesn’t physically push her. She still goes for the mic, she is obviously not intimidated by his actions.
But that was too risky. Sarah Sanders had to tweet a video that was sped up right at the time where his arm is moving to make it look like his movement was more aggressive than it was. But her cover up is sloppy. To ensure the video stayed the same length and she wouldn’t be accused of doctoring it, she slowed down some frames in the beginning to compensate for the ones she had sped up. The video she posted, unlike the one posted by the Associated Press, had no audio, which makes it very easy to alter, and fast.
Anyway, I digress because Acosta’s ban and the fact that it’s even a question points to such a scary issue. Experts have looked at the video and determined the video tweeted by Sanders was obvious edited, as the movements of others do not align with the movements When you speed things up, which is how they made his arm movement look so much harsher than it was. Here is a video comparison of the doctored video, and the AP video. Don’t mind the jackass yelling in the beginning.
Give Acosta back his rights! It’s no secret that he and the President have bumped heads on a number of occasions. This is ONE PAGE of Google results for “list of time jim acosta and trump have disagreed.”

ONE PAGE!!! Look at the dates. This has been going on since before he became president. Google it for yourself. Trump is like a childhood bully in the schoolyard, waiting for his choice student to pick on to falter, leave himself open in some way, before he goes in for the attack.
I have to believe that Acosta will get his press rights back. I just have to. I can’t believe that this great country is descending into fascism; that the book 1984, which I read with relish, is coming true. Worst of all, I cannot believe people just believe everything they see, especially with so much information right at the tip of your fingers. Oh wait, I forgot, they don’t use Google—Soros owns it. Maybe I’ll go undercover and check their search engine and see what I come back with …
The point is, this is just more propaganda. I will keep saying it. I will die on this hill. We are slipping into an authoritarian regime; one in which we are only allowed to hear news from sources the president favors, one where people like me a hung on walls, and one where books burn in the street. It has happened before. In the 1930s, Germans burned thousand of books deemed inappropriate, including Helen Keller’s very racy and scandalous book. I won’t sit here looking a fool like, “Gee, I never saw this happening.” I did that already in November 2016. Never again.
