Let’s call it what it is: Propaganda

Propaganda was a popular tool used by Adolf Hitler to persuade people to believe in his vision to the point where they would kill.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached the crossroad. After the MAGA bomber, Trump’s rhetoric has proven to incite violence during rare moments he is not repeating the words “fake news,” “greatest,” and “biggest.”

His presidency (aka campaign for 2020) has been filled with hatred and blatant lies. That he defends. The man lives and breathes by the phrase “deny till you die.” Everything he says is important. Not because it is smart or true (@ me when both of those happen simultaneously), but for three reasons: 1) the intentions behind it, and 2) people hang on his every word, and not in a good way, and 3) it’s goddamn propaganda and we’ve been down this road before.

I’m not going to sit here and argue about all the times Trump has lied. I’m one person and I have a toddler holding me hostage. I don’t have all day. But I will cite two recent examples in which the president used his rhetoric to provide “information, especially of a biased or misleading nature” to “promote … a particular political cause or point of view.”

Let me preface this with the fact that these are two of his lies that are on either end of the spectrum. I did that intentionally. No matter how much you hate hearing his voice, you have to listen to what he’s saying.

One, at one of his cult meeti– I mean, rallies, in Lebanon, Ohio on October 12th, the supreme leader told his followers that the opiod bill passed with “very little Democrat support.” Which is very fucking false, thank you. Literally every member of Senate supported it. But guess who voted no? A Republican from Utah. I wont even entertain the idea that he “tries” to tell the truth when he “can.” He said this to get his base to continue their line of thinking that “demonRATS” are just these evil, inhuman beings. Think I’m being extreme? Check out my post on QAnon. This is literal propaganda to make the left look bad and the right look good. And I’m sure it worked for many.

The second is his entire “fake news” platform of propaganda. Never once has he actually *proven* that any of the news is fake, he just keeps yelling it. Unsurprisingly, his base is chanting right along.

Not only does this spit in the face of the First Amendment (there will be a post all about that to follow), but it leaves you painted in a corner while trying to have a conversation with Trump supporters. You give them proof, they simply ignore it and say the source is fake news. When people have reached this level of closemindedness, there is no getting through to them, and that’s exactly what Trump wants. He doesn’t want leaders, he wants followers.

For him this is a dream come true. People will literally believe anything he says, even if they know he’s lying. He can fire anyone, insult anyone, and say whatever the hell he wants and not only will people just believe him, they’re willing to go to war for the man. Hmm…what other leader used blatant lies and propaganda to slowly brainwash an entire country into a war? Obama?

Do you think Hitler came into power by saying, “I hate all Jews, lets kill them all in gas chambers and do weird experiments on them?” N O. It started with propaganda and ended with the loss of about 6 million lives.

The Nazi Propaganda Ministry … took control of all forms of communication in Germany: newspapers, magazines, books, public meetings, and rallies, art, music, radio, and movies.

Ooh, sounds like I’m getting ahead of myself. A hysterical woman! Everyone hide. Except I’m not. With his fake news rhetoric, where do you think Trump fans get their news? A balanced array of right, left, and centrist publications? Bahaha. No, the best they’re doing is Fox News, which is rapidly turning into Infowars.

You might not be, but for some time now, people have been willfully ignorant, only reading or watching news sources endorsed by the President. For a civil war, all he needs is half the country to be sheltered in this way. To be made to believe liberals are inhuman, morally depraved lunatics. To believe the only way to deal with us is to silence us with whatever means necessary.

Trump didn’t have to get rid of the media entirely. He just needed to galvanize half the country with his version of the news found in the darkest corners of the internet at one time, but now enjoying the spotlight on mainstream Fox News.
